The (YouTube) legacy

SI’s Stewart Mandel on Missouri’s Kim English:

On Friday, however, English drained 4 of 7 three-pointers and scored 20 points, his highest total since Feb. 6. Prior to the tourney, English watched a YouTube mashup of former Davidson star Stephen Curry’s 2008 NCAA run.

“He was just always so poised on the court, he never showed emotion, and that led to straight up, straight down [shots],” said English. “It’s like he’s in a phone booth.”

A phone booth. Interesting.

YouTube reminders

Marcus Thompson:

Before Saturday’s 129-125 loss at Milwaukee, Warriors rookie guard Stephen Curry logged onto YouTube and watched some highlight clips of himself.

“Remind myself that I can shoot the ball,” Curry said, “and just to be on the attack.”

Curry was on the attack against the Bucks, finishing with 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting in 26 minutes. It snapped a streak of six consecutive games scoring in single digits and washed away the sour taste of his New York experience. He played only three minutes against the Knicks on Friday.

Wonder what he watched. This? This? This? Or maybe this? Probably not this.

Over at The Davidson Project

Watch. Me to Evan: “That day after the game I went to the press conference and then I went back to the locker room and THEN I went up there and that was STILL going on.” Evan to me: “What was so cool was that we all just needed to congregate. Our first instinct was to share it with each other. You know? It was so wonderfully spontaneous. Yet the emotions that produced it were years in the making.” Later that night back in the village.
