Remember when that happened every week?

Appalachian: Sims is just the second SoCon player since 2005-06 to win the award back-to-back, as Davidson’s Stephen Curry accomplished the feat five times from 2006-09.

Appalachian 66, Davidson 56

BOONE -- Donald Sims scored 25 points, making all his attempts from both 3-point range and at the foul line, to lead Appalachian State in a 66-56 win over Davidson on Thursday night.

Sims finished 2-for-2 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 at the charity stripe for the Mountaineers (15-10, 9-4 Southern Conference), who have won back to back games since losing 87-76 to Division II King College on Feb. 1.

Appalachian 78, Davidson 68

DAVIDSON -- Donald Sims scored 44 points and Appalachian State snapped a three-game losing streak with a 78-68 win over Davidson on Saturday.

Isaac Butts added 13 points and Kellen Brand had 12 for the Mountaineers (8-7, 2-2 Southern Conference).

Sims made 13 of 19 field goal attempts, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range. He also was 13-for-13 at the foul line. The Mountaineers shot 53.2 percent from the field (25-for-47).

DavidsonWildcats.com: Sims was 13-for-19 from the field, 5-for-7 from 3-point range and 13-for-13 from the free-throw line. His point total set a new Belk Arena record, topping Stephen Curry’s 41 points against Chattanooga last season. It was also the second-most individual points against Davidson in school history, besting the 43 points NC State’s David Thompson netted Dec. 21, 1974.
