List of three

Stephen, Class of ’10, on Saturday became the third player in Davidson history to score 2,000 points in his career. The two men still ahead of him on the school’s all-time points list, of course, are John Gerdy, Class of ’79, and Fred Hetzel, Class of ’65.

Here’s what those two told me last summer about the kid who will pass them.

Hetzel:

“He’s got range, he’s got vision and basketball sense, and he can put the ball into the basket from way, way out on the court.”

Gerdy:

“He’s a great shooter. He’s an even better scorer.”

“I’d be delighted if he broke my record.”
